NP20 | Matt Pond
Matt Pond has just mixed NP20. Matt first discovered house music in the early nineties, after years of experimenting with various music styles. The turning point was the Castle Morton free festival. This is where DJ’s Digs & Woosh and Simon K, of the infamous DIY sound systems, opened Matt’s ears to the sounds of deep, electronic house music from classic labels such as Strictly Rhythm, Bottom Line and Nu-Groove.
In the late nineties Matt became resident at Fluid Groove, one of Brighton’s longest running house music club nights. It was here that he had the opportunity to DJ with such legends as Charles Webster, DJ Rasoul, DIY, Jef-K and Atjazz to name a few.
He set up Audio Lounge around this time; a small specialist record store. In the 2000′s, Matt turned to production, teaming up with Dom Thompson and Jon Gray to become part of BitterSuite, who started collaborating with fellow West Country house heads BRS and The Rurals, and a string of remixes then followed on the Digi-Peng label.
In 2006, Matt set up DeepSystems on the now defunct FearOfMusicRadio.com. In conjunction with the radio show a string of underground parties followed where Matt hooked up with legends such as Boo Williams, Glenn Underground and Anthony Nicholson, booking out small private venues as opposed to clubs.

You can check out Matt’s DeepSystems show bi weekly on a Monday on http://www.myhouseyourhouse.net/
