NP28 | Juniper
Juniper are Dan Mumberson & Reuben Holt. in the studio the pair share their melodic and rhytmic ideas equally and have seen their first three EP’s release on Jus-Ed’s Underground Quality, Kassem Mosse’s Ominira and Smallpeople & Lawrence’s Smallville records. On the road, Dan represents the pair on the turntables, exploring the apex of modified house, techno & electronics. A dj since ’98, his latest venture, now over 4 years strong, sharing a residency with Arnaldo and Joy Orbison at Manchester’s deepest institution, meandyou which he co-promotes with Sam Lewis, Alexander Taber & Andrew Lyster.
The collective also run a monthly radio show on NTS London where Andrew plays along with a guest.
Musically Juniper have a remix forthcoming for the exciting new vinyl label, Until My Heart Stops run by Freerotation’s Joe Ellis & Leif Knowles which has already played host to Superb outings by Joey Anderson and Area. Further ahead material is currently being finalised for the imminent meandyou record label due to launch early 2013.
Dan’s sets are often 3+ hours and so the mix for this relatively short podcast is kept simple and direct. A vinyl recording that shows a more condensed development of what you can expect on the meandyou floor & further afield.
